COVID 19

Let me start by saying "Thank You" for your understanding in this unsettling time.

The situation regarding the coronavirus/COVID-19 in Ontario continues to evolve rapidly and remains a primary concern for our clinc and our patients.

Regulated health professionals have been mandated to observe federal and provincial regulations to practice self-distancing, public health practice and avoid any non-essential treatment (with the exception of any emergencies or acute care only).

In keeping with this mandate, our offices are closed at this time. The situation involving COVID-19 is being monitored closely, and on an ongoing basis, and the measures and guidelines will be revisited regularly as new information becomes available.

Our team will be in contact with you shortly, and thank you again for your understanding.

Stay well. Sincerely yours,

Dr. Frank D. Ramelli

With the school season just around the corner, it can be a stressful time for those entering college or university – especially if it involves moving away for the first time.

IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON!!!

IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON!!! Teach your kids the proper way to wear a backpack to avoid neck, arm, and back pain! Backpacks should be made of a lightweight material such as vinyl or canvas, and only contain the essentials for the day. Both shoulder straps should be padded and be worn, fitting the bag snug to your child's body. Help your kids to avoid back problems in the future, by packing light and wearing it right!

Summertime and Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, which frequently becomes heightened during the summer.  An increase in physical activity can put repetitive stress on your heels, leading to symptoms associated with plantar fasciitis. Also, wearing flip flops and sandals provides minimal support on your feet, causing strain on your muscles and tendons.  Some treatment options include stretching your calf and Achilles tendon, icing the inflicted area, and compression stockings which help to relieve pain by compressing and supporting the foot. Text Neck: A Modern Ailment

Text neck is the modern term used to describe the peculiar strain that mobile devices and tablets put on our upper body. While technology has proven to be beneficial in our lives in many ways, being hunched over devices for lengthy periods of time can lead to neck strain, headaches, and discomfort in the shoulders, arms, and hands.

Here are some tips to help minimize the risk of text neck:

Take frequent breaks by looking up from your device to provide your neck some relief.

Maintain good posture while using a mobile device or tablet to relieve your back and shoulders from the strain of slouching.

Stretch in between prolonged usage of your device by rotating your shoulders with your arms by your sides to release tension. Tucking your chin downwards and then looking up to the sky also helps to relieve neck strain.

See your chiropractor for regular checkups! An aligned spine is the most important step towards avoiding pains and strains.

HAPPY 1ST DAY OF SUMMER!

Here are some types to help you stay happy and healthy this summer:

Enjoy the water – Swimming is a great way to relieve your joints from pressure. Also, staying hydrated helps enhance muscle function, aid in body temperature regulation, improves skin, and much more!

Soak up the sun – Vitamin D is essential for your immune system and bone health, and has also been shown to prevent depression and heal certain dermatological conditions. Don’t forget sunblock!

Exercise outside – Exercising improves your overall health, immune system, and mood. Enjoy the summer weather outside by going for a hike or swimming.

Most importantly, continue your regular chiropractic program with your Dr. Ramelli! Without your health, you cannot enjoy all the great activities that the summer has to offer!
